We had a great time today in our classroom celebrating Halloween! We did a lot of fun activities and worked on our Number Sense with a Halloween Math activity. I have posted many pictures on our secure website on See Saw. Please visit that account to see pictures of how we spent our day.
We also wrapped up our Personal Narratives unit this week in Writing. Starting on Monday we will begin introducing and writing non-fiction books. During this unit we encourage students to write about what they know a lot about. We tell students they are specialist on things they know a lot about. Today, we brainstormed different topics that the students were specialists in. Our topics ranged from Butterflies, Sharks and Gardening to Babysitting younger siblings. We will begin using our Thinking Maps to organize our writing on Monday! Your children are becoming such wonderful writers! I am very proud of them.
Please do not forget that there is no school on Tuesday November 3rd for Election Day!
